Oh-Dark:30 - Launch Holds & Scrubs in the Middle Of The Night

When a launch is scheduled for the middle of the night (refferred to as "Oh Dark Thirty" in some circles), The "Launch Holds & Scrubs" communitty of UPOC.Com won't blame you if you'd rather sleep than get woken up when minor glitches cause a lot of messages to be generated.

The Group Leader, Ozzie, is aware that not everyone has a "massive messaging package" on their mobile phone plan, and tries to hold the messages down to a minimum. Sometimes, though, lots goes on before a launch, and launches have been pushed back as many as 5 times in a launch window before the "bird" finally leaves the pad, and launches into space. We try to keep you informed as to the status of the launch, and let you know when there will be a delay, and when the next "T Minus Zero" is set for.

Keep in mind that you can send the text message "off" to phone number 1110420128 to turn off messages being sent to you. You can send "on" to the same number to have the service turned back on. The problem is, We can't just turn you back on if you forget to turn it on yourself.

Also keep in mind that you can just turn off your phone, and let the mesages collect at your service provider's message host until you turn on the phone again in the morning. You'll get caught up on all the messages, and know if the launch went, or was scrubbed.

As the Group Founder, Ozzie can see if you've got the group turned On or Off, but can't change the setting himself. Don't be surprised if before the next daytime launch, you get a Message from Ozzie reminding you to turn the service back on.
